As the air turns crisp and the first whispers of winter approach, LAB Art Studio is thrilled to unveil our enchanting themes for November and December: "Majestic Mountains" and "Winter Cabins," inspired by the mesmerizing works of UK artist Marina Castaldo.
An Artsy Winter Wonderland
At our LAB Art Studios located in Richmond and Vancouver, young artists will journey into the heart of winter landscapes, learning how to capture the serene beauty of snow-capped Vancouver Mountains and the cozy allure of cabins nestled amidst frosty terrains. By studying Marina Castaldo's beautiful techniques, children will discover how to depict the calmness and majesty of winter scenes, bringing each layer of land to life on canvas and more.
A Multi-sensory Artistic Adventure
From the fluid strokes of painting to the tactile experience of sculpture, students will immerse themselves in various mediums:
Painting: They'll experiment with cool color palettes, learn to portray the subtle hues of snow and sky, and master the art of creating depth and perspective in vast mountain ranges.
Sculpture: Using clay and mixed media, children will craft their own three-dimensional winter cabins and mountain vistas, honing their spatial awareness and fine motor skills.
Digital Drawing: Our budding artists will also explore digital tools to create vibrant winter scenes, learning how to manipulate light, texture, and layering in a digital space.
Pencil Drawing: Through detailed sketching, children will capture the intricate lines and shadows of majestic mountains, focusing on precision and composition.
Alphabet + Art: Combining creativity with literacy, kids will use letters and words as inspiration to build unique winter-themed artworks, enriching their understanding of design and structure.
Needle Felting: In this hands-on activity, students will work with soft wool to create cozy, textured winter cabins and other seasonal elements, developing patience and focus while working with this intricate craft.
